Platinum Homes' new High-Performance Show Home, currently under construction in Milldale, Auckland, features an outstanding STIEBEL ELTRON LWZ280 Ventilation installation using Formance SIPs. This project exemplifies the optimal method of installing ventilation within the thermal envelope to ensure maximum efficiency and reliable outcomes.

By positioning the ventilation system within the thermal envelope instead of a cold roof space, the energy efficiency rated at 94% for the MVHR heat exchanger is maintained throughout the entire system. This innovative approach eliminates the common energy losses associated with traditional ventilation systems.

The system uses throttled individual ducts for each area, meeting continuous flow code requirements. Instead of standard wet area extracts to the outside, the system utilises full heat recovery, reducing exterior penetrations into the building fabric and recovering all energy. This ensures that the installed efficiency aligns with the MVHR rating, with no energy lost along the way.
